Ted Lyon papers 1962-2006

Collection contains Lyon's class notes, teaching aids, and student work while pursuing his undergraduate degree, writing his dissertation, and teaching at the University of Oklahoma, University of Wisconsin, and Brigham Young University. Collection mainly consists of Spanish-American research and tools Lyon used while teaching at BYU. Lyon worked on several humanitiarian projects while working at Brigham Young University, and information regarding these trips can also be found in the collection. Lyon's personal and departmental correspondence from the 1960s to 2000s is also included.

John Lyon (1803-1889) was a Scottish immigrant and convert to the Mormon Church who became a leader in several Utah groups. He was a poet and a Mormon patriarch.
